View+ 1.30 is ready!
Since there were a lot changes, or better to say, some changes were quite complex, some additional testing would be welcome.

So, please, book in here and I'll mail a copy to you Smile
BTW, this is a call to users who haven't registered yet to Join in! It's free Very Happy
Additionally, you'll get the Kees's translation of his article on View+ (read below!).

Edo

1) Note+ news:
Dynamic Buttonbar introduced to Note+ File Manager.
It can be switched on/off using Fn+2 shortcut or via supplemental menu that is,
as usual, brought up with Fn+Menu.
There are 48 buttons in total divided into 6 sets:
Plain/ Ctrl / Shift / Ctrl+Shift / Fn / Ctrl+Fn
All buttons can be customized e.g. you can assign commands to each button.
There are more than 80 commands to choose from ("Assign Buttonbar commands"
item from supplemental menu (Fn+Menu).
All button captions/command names can be edited. If you want to split button text
into 2 lines you must use backslash(\) sign.
Necessary small adjustments are done in order to make use of Buttonbar easier.
When Buttonbar is on and it is not possible to view Notes area, in all rename/delete/
copy dialogs a preview of "note" assigned to file/folder is displayed. Also, a tip
for fervent "Notes" users - switch on "Show assigned files" from Fn+Menu. By
doing that you will have all files with assigned notes underlined!

Menu item "Menu 2 (Fn+Menu)" is added to "View" menu group to ease the use of
new Buttonbar functions.
Some functions settings are now preserved, like "Show opened files", "Show
assigned files" and "Disable Browser refresh" (all from Fn+Menu group).

2) Toolbar buttons can be additionally customized. You can dynamically change them,
like Note+ Buttonbar, by pressing Ctrl, Shift or Fn. So you have 4 sets of toolbar
buttons at hand.
All button captions are editable too.
Toolbar setup is now reachable from the new button on main "Settings" dialog -
"Set Toolbar". From here, dynamical toolbars can be checked on, button captions
edited and commands (out of 26) assigned to buttons.

3) Hex Editor/Viewer changes:
Enabled direct editing - on screen, both in Hex and ASCII view.
You switch this mode on/off with Fn+Enter or via menu. So, now 2 editing modes
are available - "Direct edit" and "Edit box", whichever suits you best Wink
In Hex mode you edit/enter hex values and in ASCII mode, characters/strings.

Now by pressing DEL on current byte, you can delete/remove it from file.
Of course, mode of operation is different if you edit some OPL file from editing
other files. As usual, if removing byte from OPL file, procedure table values will be
recalculated. Beware, if you don't know what you are doing, better avoid this
feature Wink

When jumping to offsets, found offset is displayed in the 5th line (when possible) in
order to get more context to view without unnecessary scrolling (Thanks, Leo Smile
The same works for switching Hex and ASCII view mode.

4) A lot of small improvements done in many procedures to keep View+ run smoothly
now when the execution file came dangerously close to 500K Wink
A problem (OK now, Kees Smile with previewing MBM's with 100 and more bitmaps has
finally been fixed. It's about jumping to bitmaps with Ctrl+G in all (MBM) preview
dialogs.

5) Two more Note+ colour schemes added to "Note+_colour schemes.zip".
"Silver" and my favourite "Blue" Wink

6) Kees van den Straten has kindly contributed an English translation of his article
on View+, published in PDATotaal.Info paperback magazine (no.5 of July 2005).
It is a Psion word file named "View+.wrd" and can be found in distribution zipfile.
It is very informative and an excellent starting point for using View+. Certainly,
it couldn't have touched the most of View+ issues, which still wait for you to
explore them Wink
Also, a second INI file, "View+2.ini" is introduced on Kees's initiative Wink
