Hi Edo,
1. I have a data file of about 42000 records.
It cannot be viewed with V+.
V+ shows it's properties correctly, but when I try to use "all fields" option, it waits for a while (as if going through records) and then gives "overflow" error message!
I guess maybe there is a 32768 record number limit somewhere?
2. I have another (smaller) database.
When I try to browse it with V+, it crashes totally!
The message is as usual: Reason code USER/Reason number 23
The Data file in question is "Comms terms" from http://www.pscience5.net/downloads/Communications.zip

Maybe! I'll have a look.

Strange!
Data+.opo opens it w/o problem! I'll check it out.
Fixed!
It is something that was already in my focus when writing code.
It's connected with getting Memo field content. I tried to do it a bit smoother in V+ than in Data+ and as usual, you get an "overdo" result
Interestingly, this is only this DATA file that produces an error!
Edo
P.S. This is related to Reason code USER/Reason number 23 crash!

Probably it is!
How many DATA files of more than 32768 records do you have?

I've faced this problem for the 1st time years ago on my Series3A with famous JBData (data replacement) by John Boyce.
I've compiled an Enlish-Russian dictionary database which had 32500 words exactly, and it worked fine.
Then I've managed to add some thousands words more, and it crashed!
It took a really long time to fix, as it'd been written on C+ which gave the limitation!
Now the problem is with Russian mail indexes database!

Hm!
Why would you need to open that database with V+ Data viewer?
Isn't it easier with DATA App?
I think that building a ListBox with 40.000+ entries would be slow and memory demanding.

Because Data Viewer is the part of V+!
The other cause is that this file is very slo-o-o-o-w in Data!
It opens for ages!
Wanted to try V+ if it'd be faster!
The other reason was an attempt to vave a plain text file in V+ format.
